On June 14 and June 15, the Green Filmmaking Project’s Dorien Grötzinger, and professional Dutch Producer Brechtje Smidt (Deepeei Film Productions), held a workshop on green filmmaking during the Pelicam International Film Festival; check out photos from the event here! The natural surroundings of Tulcea, Romania could not have been more perfect for the hosting of a workshop on sustainable film production, as Tulcea itself, is located near a nature reserve surrounding the Danube Delta. where we presented our project at the Dutch pavilion, and exchanged with sustainably minded filmmaking professionals from all over the world; Sweden, the UK, Belgium, Germany and Italy. A growing number of countries are actively developing ways to work more sustainably in film (best practice guides show that innovative tools are relevant and lucrative for filmmakers), and we received great interest from the international community at large. And, how did the cast members Arnold Schwarzennegger and Sylvester Stallone of the blockbuster movie ‘Expendables 3’, become bearers of the ‘I Am a Green Filmmaker’ logo at the festival? We are still beaming from all of the international exchange we were able to the embrace at the Cannes Film Festival, and we are already planning for our next green filmmaking trip abroad! On Saturday June 14th, and Sunday June 15th the Green Film Making Project will be in Romania for The Pelicam International Film Festival, and we will be hosting two workshops on the do’s and dont’s of green filmmaking. App Supports Sustainable Post-Production Workflow

FILMMORE, a post production company based in the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg, presents an innovative app for the iPad that allows post-production processes to be a lot easier, efficient and more sustainable. The innovative ‘FILMMORE Dailies App’ (get the app here, or check the video we made on it) allows for the editing and sharing of ‘dailies’ among crew, in a very easy and process efficient way. Green filmmaking trip to Cannes – day 1

Yesterday the Green Film Making Project arrived at the 67th Cannes Film Festival. We presented our project at the Dutch pavilion and met green filmmaking enthusiasts from all over the world. We connected to fellow filmmakers from Sweden, the UK, Germany and Italy. It’s inspiring to see that a growing number of countries are developing ways to work more sustainably in film.

Amongst others Melanie Dicks (Greenshoot, UK), Helena Sandermark (EkoTegel, Sweden) and Pietro Reggiani (Producers Network, Italy) were present and contributed to the conversation about how to take the film industry into the future. We’ll update you soon on our findings! read more…
